Appalling looking stretches of Oxbridge see decades-old cobbles emerge

OFFICIALS say “appalling” stretches of road are being examined by council chiefs after decades old cobbles saw the light of day in some areas. Eton, Windsor, and Hampton Road have been marked by problems in recent months in Stockton on the back of wear and tear from this winter.  Their condition, and troubles with others nearby, have sparked a slew of complaints to Parkfield and Oxbridge ward councillors Louise Baldock and Stockton mayor Cllr Mohammed Javed. Cllr Baldock told Monday’s place select committee some of the roads in her ward looked “appalling”. She added: “One estate is Tarmac laid on concrete road and another is Tarmac laid on cobbled streets. They’re both problematic in that the Tarmac doesn’t stick very well and creates lots of little holes which look appalling.
