"I don t know where I am going tonight," Louis Rouillard a user of Ricochet s shelter service in Pierrefonds told The Suburban. Tuesday night was the last night for Ricochet users
The shelter started as a warming centre back in 2020 and soon expanded to respond to the high demand in the area. It is now scrambling to find a new emergency location.
The Ricochet Centre has been operating in a building owned by the Montreal West Island CIUSSS, which was always meant to be temporary since the shelter's opening in 2020. But instead of relocating, staff say their only option is to hand out survival kits.
