Police release internal policy on body cameras as program begins wider rollout across Toronto
The Toronto Police Service on Friday released its internal guidelines on the use of body-worn cameras to the public, citing a desire to increase transparency and accountability as the program expands across the city.

Naturally, the politicians are blaming the cops for their northern Nirvana coming off the rails.
No less a person than former U.S. President Barack Obama has chastised the movement for its simplistic solutions and rhetoric. Use a scalpel, Obama intones, not a sledgehammer.
“But if we say ‘defund the police,’ not just white folks, but Michelle’s mom might say, ‘if I’m getting robbed, who am I going to call and is somebody going to show up?’” Obama told Daily Show host Trevor Noah this week.
Since the world witnessed the horrific death of George Floyd, which was captured on video, right-thinking people have been calling for change. Defunding cops is probably not the answer.
