ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. Nearly 40 St. Louis area mayors - members of the Municipal League of Metro St. Louis - sent a letter to St. Louis County Executive Dr. Sam Page asking for proof that restaurants contribute to the spread of COVID-19.
Municipal League Executive Director Pat Kelly said the letter strikes a respectful tone because they have a good working relationship with Page. Still, mayors are asking some hard questions during hard times.
“It was respectful, Kirkwood Mayor Tim Griffin said. It just asked questions and asked for information.”

St. Louis County Executive Dr. Sam Page has appointed attorney Richard E. Banks, of Pasadena Hills, to the Police Board of Commissioners.Â
Banks is a personal injury lawyer. He will serve a three-year term. His appointment fills a vacancy left by Dr. LJ Punch.Â
âRichard comes highly recommended from a diverse group of community leaders,â Page said in a statement released Friday, Dec. 11. âHe is committed to serving on the police board as we work to build upon the relationships between law enforcement and the community and to ensure that our department is representative of those it serves.âÂ
Banks grew up in St. Louis. He serves on the Missouri Supreme Court Advisory Committee, which oversees the disciplinary process for all Missouri lawyers. He also serves on the boards of the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis and Fontbonne University. He is a past regional director of the National Bar Association. Banks is a graduate of Howard University

The City of Chesterfield is throwing its support behind local businesses and its police department reminded residents it will not enforce St. Louis County s health orders in a statement issued Wednesday. As a point of information, the Chesterfield Police Department has no statutory authority to enforce St. Louis County Health or the St. Louis County Executive order, nor do we intend to do so, the statement says.
