Amid the pandemic and the political and social upheaval narratives that inundate us lies a good story, otherwise lost in our collective need to bleed news. As Columnist David Collins dissected and exposed the horrendous mismanagement and graft of the Connecticut Port Authority, another man, Michael Passero, showed up for work every day on behalf of the people who elected him mayor of New London. Continually rebuked, rebuffed, and pushed aside in his effort to assure New London s participation in the offshore wind power generation program, Passero was dogged in demanding thumping rights at the table − and finally got them, securing both participation and revenue for the initiative s host city of New London.
