The career window for a professional soccer player doesn’t stay open long.
Before Major League Soccer, Philadelphia’s Matt Knowles spent most of his career grinding between the American Professional Soccer League and the National Professional Soccer League, both attempts at re-creating the early success of the NASL and MISL. In the early 1990s, American players bounced around the country from season to season, from baseball fields to astroturf, chasing the dream, which Knowles accomplished for over a decade. Unfortunately, following a string of major injuries, his MLS window closed faster than he would have liked.

The Kansas City Comets will head to the Tampa Bay area for a weekend doubleheader against the Florida Tropics.
The Comets enter the weekend on a five-game winning streak with a 1-0 regular season record after last weekend’s comeback win over the Dallas Sidekicks, which included a hat trick from Kevin Ellis.

Saturday the league kicked off the 2020-2021 regular season with competitions between 4 of the 11 participating teams.

The Major Arena Soccer League is back!
Saturday the league kicked off the regular season with competitions between 4 of the 11 participating teams.
The Dallas Sidekicks, Florida Tropics, Kansas City Comets, San Diego Sockers, St. Louis Ambush and Tacoma Stars will all take part in competition in January.
Utica City FC is awaiting guidance from New York State on the allowance of spectators. UCFC’s General Manager Tommy Tanner says that the franchise is working on a plan that will allow for the allotted 12-24 games that they need in order to qualify for the post season.

The MASL season will begin with six teams playing in the month of January beginning on Jan. 2. Utica City FC has still not announced its schedule as it awaits further guidance from New York State.

UTICA, N.Y. - While the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) has announced when it will begin its 2020-21 regular season, the wait continues for Utica City FC.
The MASL revealed its schedule for the month of January, which includes six teams taking part in 14 games, beginning on Jan. 2.
