Comprehensive sustainability plan testament to university’s stewardship commitment
The formal announcement of Grizzlies Healthy Planet Initiative reflects the president’s emphasis on policies that support a more healthy and sustainable university.
Less than a year after introducing Oakland University’s value statement, which includes a prominent reference to stewardship, President Ora Hirsch Pescovitz has assembled a diverse team of faculty, staff and students to draft the university’s first comprehensive sustainability plan.

ROCHESTER A new augmented reality center will soon open at Oakland University, introducing students to careers involving cutting-edge technology.
The center, which launched March 2, will be built over the summer with the goal to open in Oakland University’s School of Engineering and Computer Science this fall.
A collaborative project between OU, the College for Creative Studies and regional industry partners, the augmented reality center, or ARC, allows students from CCS and OU to work alongside faculty and industry partners to apply AR technology in a variety of fields.
