DANIELSON A 40-year-old Willimantic woman will be sentenced to two years in prison for injecting a man with a fatal dose of cocaine in Windham, prosecutors said.
Teresa Deriso, previously of 820 Wethersfield Ave., Apt. G6, in Hartford, pleaded guilty on Friday in Danielson Superior Court to one count of second-degree manslaughter in connection with the Oct. 3, 2017, death, Windham State’s Attorney Anne Mahoney said.
Under an agreement with the state and special public defender Robert Kappas, Deriso will also be ordered to serve three years of probation when sentenced on May 21.
State police and Windham Fire Department members were called to an apartment on Plain Road in Windham where they found a 49-year-old deceased man with a syringe lodged in his arm. Family members reported the victim’s truck, wallet and cell phone missing.
