A grand jury charged longtime Superintendent Bruce Karam with two counts of fourth-degree grand larceny, two counts of public corruption and one count of third-degree corruption of government.
The Utica City School District Superintend on leave from the district, Bruce Karam along with former Board President and former Utica Mayor Lou Lapolla were arrested on Tuesday.
Karam was using school money and resources including stamps, envelopes, and other supplies to send election mailers in support of school board candidates that he favored and who determined his contract, salary and authority, - that's according to NYS Comptroller Thomas P.
