People who have stayed in places outside China during the 21 days before their arrival have to undergo 21 days of compulsory quarantine. - AFP HONG KONG, Dec 26 (dpa): Hong Kong reported 57 new cases of the coronavirus on Friday night (Dec 25), including 55 locally transmitted infections, of which 25 had unknown origins, health authorities announced.
Two imported cases and 50 preliminary positives were also reported, according to the Centre for Health Protection. A new case in Kwun Tong Garden Estate’s Lotus Towers precipitated another order for mandatory Covid-19 testing for the building’s residents.
The new cases, which represent a slight drop from the day earlier, come as Hong Kong adds an additional week to the 14-day quarantine residents must follow upon re-entry into the city.
