repair works of the seafront on Avenida de los Marineros (Playa del Cura) have been completed
A woman allegedly stabbed her partner after an argument in Torrevieja. The incident occurred at around 6.30 p.m. yesterday in a building located on Avenida Diego Ramírez. The victim was taken to the University Hospital of Torrevieja by a paramedic ambulance.
The councillor for urban services in Torrevieja, Sandra Sánchez, reports that the repair works of the seafront on Avenida de los Marineros (Playa del Cura) have been completed and that they have been carried out as a result of the gap that was opened under the promenade seafront in front of the “El Timonel” building, after various storms in February 2020 and the continuous exposure of the wall that supports the promenade.

The mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, and the president of the Association of Southeast Naturalists (ANSE), Pedro García, have signed an agreement by which Torrevieja becomes part of the Network of municipalities for the adaptation of pollinators for change climate.
The signing of the agreement was attended by the Councillor for the Environment, Antonio Vidal, and the municipal biologist, Juan Antonio Pujol. By joining this project, the Torrevieja Council complies with one of the sustainable development objectives and addresses the protection of wild bees.
Repairs have been carried out after a sinkhole appeared on Avenida de los Marineros, on Playa del Cura in Torrevieja after the 2020 storm. This storm caused a huge sinkhole in a section of the retaining wall. The Councillor for Quality of Urban Services of the Torrevieja City Council, Sandra Sánchez, has advised that given the current state of deterioration of the existing benches on the Juan Aparicio and Avenida de los Marineros (Playa del Cura) beach walkways, conservation works have been contracted for these urban furniture elements that required urgent action, due to the fact that no maintenance work has been carried out in recent years.
The work takes in a stretch some 600 metres long and consists of the benches located on the edge of both promenades and 20 isolated benches on the Paseo Juan Aparicio. The duration of these works is one month and at a cost of 22,385 euro.
