reporter: hi, patti ann. they say hope springs eternal and many stranded passengers are hoping it is not going to be an eternity for them to get home but for many it will likely be a few more days, possibly until the end of the week. take a look over my shoulder here at laguardia airport and you can see the hundreds and hundreds of people waiting to get ticketed, waiting to get on an aircraft. about 400 passengers were stranded here last night. they were fortunate enough to be provided cots and they expect the same situation again tonight. a few hundred people staying at laguardia airport. at newark airport, another one of the airports that serves the new york city area, again more delays. newark is also a major hub for continental airlines. because they canceled so many flights there was a significant ripple effect throughout the entire system. as for the d.c. area, the two airports there, dulles and washington national, they did not receive the same amount of snow as the
