Some California cities like City of Los Angeles will increase minimum wage in July 2023. Los Angeles Office of Wage Standards announced increase by $0.74 for a new minimum wage rate of $16.78 per hour based on Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers
July 1, Los Angeles City or Los Angeles County employers will need to increase pay to minimum wage employees at or near current $15 per hour. In Los Angeles Minimum Wage Ordinance, minimum wage will increase to $16.04 an hour for workers of at least two hours in given week.
Nearly two dozen states, localities are increasing minimum wages effective July 1, 2022. Employers with minimum wage workers should consult with counsel to ensure their compensation practices are compliant with laws in all jurisdictions they operate in.
