$8.1 Million Housing Project Planned in Binghamton Neighborhood
Work on the project is expected to get underway late this year.
Buildings on Edwards Street, Mather Street and North Street are to be renovated. A new structure is planned on the southwest corner of Walnut and North streets.
The First Ward Action Council is working with the city on the project, which is to create 23 affordable apartments in the neighborhood north of Main Street.

News of the project came as a surprise to a couple of residents of a building that is to be renovated. Edwin and Lorri Williams were sitting on the porch of the house they rent at 10 Edwards Street Wednesday afternoon when a reporter informed them of the announcement from City Hall.
