Around 10:00 pm on Thursday night, (October 20th) two Galesburg females came into the Public Safety Building for a fraud report. A woman said she found two checks written out by her 19-year-old stepson in his biological mother's name. The woman said a bank statement came in the mail to her house that was addressed to the teen's biological mother. Officer also discovered the male has a valid Knox County Warrant. The male was taken into custody on Lorraine Drive and transported to the Public Safety Building where he admitted to writing out the checks to himself off his mother's account. One check was for $100 and the other was for $5000. The 19-year-old was placed under arrest and charged for the warrant, Identity Theft, and two counts of Forgery.
