One local teacher saw the pandemic as an opportunity to utilize her time at home by continuing her education and moving up the ladder in her career.
Lori Ann Jones, a special education teacher at Pueblo County High School, used the stimulus check she received from the CARES Act to return to school and get her second master s degree in order to move up the pay scale at Pueblo County School District 70. As a single mom, I m always looking for ways to support my daughter and myself, Jones said. Having an additional master s degree would bump up my salary level at the school district.
Sedalia Police Reports For April 8, 2021

Sunday morning, concerned citizens reported a vehicle driving erratically. The vehicle was stopped at Missouri Avenue and Magnolia, where the operator was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated by Drugs. Lori Ann Jones, 58, of Sedalia, was transported to the Police Station, then the hospital for a blood draw. Jones was then released to a sober person. The case was forwarded to the Pettis County Prosecutor s office.
Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 400 block of Albright Court Sunday afternoon in regard to a violation of a full order of protection. The victim stated the suspect came up to them, in violation of the order, and starting yelling and cursing at them. The victim also showed Officers several text messages they had received from the suspect. The suspect was later located in the 1300 block of East 7th Street.
