The Lewes Public Library and Browseabout Books will host a virtual book launch and author discussion with Suzanne Simonetti for her debut novel, “The Sound of Wings,” at 5 p.m., Wednesday, May 12, via Zoom.
Set in picturesque Cape May, N.J., “The Sound of Wings” weaves together the stories of three women whose lives are upended and then intertwine: 70-year-old potter Goldie, whose shop is failing and who is haunted by her deceased husband; newcomer Krystal, with the flashy new mansion but no friends; and Jocelyn, a distracted writer about to miss a deadline due to a custody battle.
C.S. Lewis wrote “Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art … It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things which give value to survival.”
