Four people hurt in Jefferson City pileup

A Ford Escape and dump truck were damaged in a four-vehicle crash in Jefferson City on Monday, May 3, 2021.

Four people were hurt in a pileup involving a dump truck Monday morning in Jefferson City.
The crash happened just before 8 a.m. at Lorenzo Green Drive and Route B in southeast Jefferson City. Police say a Toyota Tacoma that was waiting to turn from southbound Route B suddenly left the turn lane, causing a Chevrolet TrailBlazer to hit the Tacoma from behind. The Tacoma ended up in the northbound lanes of Route B, where it was hit head-on by a dump truck, police said.
The crash happened near Route B and Lorenzo Green Drive in Jefferson City.
According to a release from Jefferson City Police, a Toyota Tacoma and a Ford Escape were stopped in the left turn lane from southbound Route B and were ready to turn left on northbound Lorenzo Greene Drive. Jefferson City Police
A Chevrolet Trail Blazer was traveling southbound on Route B, while a dump truck was driving northbound on Route B, near the intersection of Lorenzo Green Drive.Â
The Toyota changed lanes and moved into the southbound lane, while crossing into the Chevrolet s path. The driver of the Chevrolet could not stop and crashed into the rear of the Toyota.Â
