After missing out on the first round of coronavirus vaccines distributed by the state this week, Odessa’s two hospitals will instead be included in the second shipment, officials confirmed Wednesday.
Medical Center Hospital President and CEO Russell Tippin told the Reporter-Telegram that while they were confirmed to receive a vaccine this week, a “glitch” with the state delayed that shipment. They’re now expecting to receive 2,500 doses the week of Dec. 21.
“When we turned our stuff in and got our confirmation email, we figured we were done,” Tippin said. “But apparently, there was one step remaining, and so that kicked us off the list.”
