which was the first rapist put away for life without parole, the victim remembered the smell of him as he attacked her. wow. other details were not so good. the exact address, location. so this strategy of trying to attack the credibility of the survivor by saying, oh, you don t remember the exact time or the date or the address of the party, that isn t the way people remember things. they remember the most traumatic details of it and those tend to be crystal clear. also, you took note of the comments that manu just played from his conversation with senator oren hatch and what oren hatch says he was told by brett kavanaugh over the phone. why are they so notable to you? well, what strikes me about what hatch said about the first word lacking the context, but in that context it is a little bit worrisome because brett kavanaugh seems to be saying
trauma and some of it is the stigma that s attached. certainly in younger victims, let s remember that dr. ford was only 15, sometimes the disclosure is very gradual. at first they re able to admit that something happened, a little more detail. in this case she said first a physical assault and then she disclosed there was a sexual assault. so that s not at all uncommon. you have written about this extensively because of your experience prosecuting crimes like this before. you noted the details. the victim might not remember the details of the attack, date, location, more their experience of it. i ask you this because this gets to the central question of what appears to be a strategy here, was because she doesn t remember some of those details these years hayea years later that undermines her credibility. one of the cases we did,

representative who she sent her letter to. and, you know, feinstein is under a lot of scrutiny right now for whether she should have been more proactive once she saw this letter. she said she was preserving dr. ford s confidentiality. but, you know, she is the ranking democrat on that committee, and if the republicans begin to use low tactics and attack dr. ford s character as part of an attempt to undermine her credibility, the democrats must go into that hearing with a strategy of what they re going to do. because even when they were in the majority during the anita hill/clarence thomas hearings, they had no strategy at all. the republicans went in, oren hatch among them, determined to save clarence thomas s nomination and they did.
