On Monday, May 1, Lordstown Motors said in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission that it might have to 'curtail or cease operations' or file for bankruptcy if it can't reach a resolution with Foxconn, also known as Hon Hai Technology Group.
The companies will both provide services for Lordstown Motors' electric vehicles. Production and delivery of the Endurance truck has resumed after a supply issue earlier this year.
According to media reports, Ford is said to be working on a new kind of powertrain for its future EVs. Reports suggest that the company has filed a patent with the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) for solid axles with integrated hub motors.
