Respects paid to Hector Duff Onchan streets lined with people applauding
A service of thanksgiving to celebrate the life of Normandy veteran Hector Duff has taken place at St. Peters Church in Onchan.
Many tributes have been paid to the 101 year-old since he died at the end of November.
People lined the streets and applauded as the cortege made its way through the village.
Outside the church, police officers and members of the British Legion formed a guard of honour.
The Lieutenant Governor Sir Richard Gozney and Chief Minister Howard Quayle were amongst a packed congregation.
The coffin was carried in to the Manx Fisherman s Evening Hymn.
