the midterm election for democrats and joe biden wasn t quite as lopsided, wasn t nearly as lopsided as it had been against obama in 2010. nonetheless, both biden now and obama then had that dynamic and have that dynamic of a republican control of the house. barack obama came into that year, his average approval rating was just under 50%. joe biden s right now is 42.8%. so biden s approval rating is lower. and the big story of that second two years of obama s presidency were the confrontations between obama and john boehner and the republicans in the house. the early months of that relationship, that governing relationship were marked by efforts on both sides to show an attempt of compromise, the grand bargain. there was obama and john boehner. they took golfing trips together. but that didn t really get anywhere. and meanwhile, there was then as
but one thing that would ve changed is that the ukrainian people whatever zested. they would ve fought for their liberties. so there would be a large where, except it would be a more lopsided war. not necessarily one that russia would win, it just would be a bloody war. because it would be a war that wouldn t entail the provision of javelins and stingers air defense systems. and all this kind of unity around providing support to ukraine. so the ukrainians would still be, there still be fighting. but the russians may be making more headway, eventually losing anyway, because the well of the ukrainian people to defend themselves. but it s amazing that this is not a surprise to quite a few people. i mean, certainly, the soundbite you played, i alluded to the fact that there would be a danger for significant escalation based on this machination to withhold aid. we came much much worse because ukraine became politicized and radioactive to both the trump and biden administration.
and it sounds to me like when i went to the university, in the 70s, because it was described as it s a class where diverse views actually people who hold different opinions are presented about topics we wouldn t or couldn t or shouldn t even talk about. that s the way it used to be. you wanted to hear make up your own mind. now it s just all lopsided to the left it seems. yeah. the woke left, in particular. so that s what we want to do. we want to create the infrastructure that gives students the tools to make better decisions to think through problems. this is not a small task. very ambitious project particularly when we are facing several multiple mask allusions at one time with regard to the dominant moral orthodoxy. to speak freely and to open your mind and to be exposed to multiple ideas, competing ideas and to understand how to engage. this is a remarkable experience
