Springburn/Robroyston hope to have more than one display this year MEMBERS of Springburn’s area partnership have agreed to spend a maximum of £6000 on Christmas lighting and hope the community will help fund some displays. During a committee meeting, councillors were asked to agree the locations for the festive lighting displays and where the switch on events would be held later in the year. It was suggested that the partnership work with community organisations to establish these sites and ask them to part fund the displays so there will be more festive lights throughout the ward.

Loop Theatre who carried out a similar project in December A DRAMA group based in Govan has been awarded just over £6200 to work on a project to tackle social isolation within the community. Loop Theatre, whose aim is to break down barriers for individuals with learning disabilities by creating an environment where anyone with additional support needs can learn, create and perform together, will use the money to sing to residents at Bealach House in Baillieston. A group will perform at the homes of the service user at a safe distance. The application was approved by the Baillieston Area Partnership this week.
