Because it was such a transformative eruption not only in terms of the depth, but the breadth, said Lono Lyman, manager of the Kapoho Land and Development Company, and board member of the Kapoho Beach Community Association. The tiny coastal community on the Big Island was overrun by lava from the 2018 Kilauea Lower East Rift Zone eruption three years ago this week. Over 700 homes were lost and many more residents displaced. So where do things stand now?
