Pastor Mark Mayer of the Weirton First Christian Church conducted a special service Feb. 7 to honor three longtime members of the church, including, from left, Paula Brown, Connie Norwood and Karen Blanc, with the status of elder emeritus, a lifelong honor. Elder emeritus is a status given to an elder in appreciation for long and faithful service to the church. Their advice and counsel are welcomed by the board, according to Mayer. Contributed
