Longtime Anaheim Ducks executive David McNab announces retirement

Longtime Anaheim Ducks executive David McNab, whose association with the NHL franchise dates back to its very beginnings, announced his retirement Tuesday.
McNab, 65, joined the Ducks in 1993 as the club’s first director of player personnel after working with the Washington Capitals, Hartford Whalers and New York Rangers. The former University of Wisconsin goaltender became Anaheim’s assistant general manager in 1994 and served in that role for 14 years. In 2008, he was promoted to senior vice president of hockey operations.
A scout at heart, McNab negotiated many of the team’s contracts, oversaw all aspects of player development and provided expertise with the salary cap and collective bargaining agreement for Ducks GM Bob Murray.
