The basset hounds were back in Ocean City Saturday morning for the first time since 2019.
On full display on the grounds of the Ocean City Tabernacle Church was their stubbornness, goofiness and sassiness. Every so often their powerful howl echoed through the quiet streets enticing passersby to stop to see what all the commotion was about, just like years before, but on a much smaller scale.

A man whose kayak sunk Thursday off a Longport beach was rescued by the Coast Guard, officials said.
Egg Harbor Township 911 dispatch called Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay and stated that there was a person in the water calling for help in the vicinity of Longport Dog Beach, according to a statement from the Coast Guard.
LONGPORT - The Coast Guard saved a man whose kayak overturned off a beach here Thursday.
The rescue mission occurred around 11:30 a.m. after a 911 caller reported a person was calling for help in the vicinity of Longport Dog Beach, said a Coast Guard account.
The beach is in Egg Harbor Township near the Ocean Drive Bridge to Ocean City. It is diagonally across an inlet from Longport.
Coast Guard rescuers, who left Atlantic City in a 29-foot boat, arrived on the scene quickly, the account said.
The rescuers pulled the man from the water, where he d been clinging to the kayak. The water temperature was estimated to be around 48 degrees.
