CSPAN Key Capitol Hill Hearings April 18, 2015

How would world war ii had ended . Not well. The cold war . Not well. What would my life had been like . That would not have been a place like america for my parents to go to. I told the story many times because to me it reminds me every single day of how unique this nation is. Throughout all of history, almost everyone who has lived has lived in a society that told you, you can only go as far as your parents went before you. Whatever they did, that is what is left. Here, that has not been the case. My parents understood. My father lost his mother when he was nineyearold, and he worked for the next 70 years of his life. My mother was one of seven girls raised in cuba in a poor family, with the disabled father. They had dreams when they were young, but they could not do them, they found themselves in a society that told them that they could not do those things. Imagine what that must have felt like. I also offer my condolences. Regardless of political convictions, there is one subject upon which we agree, this is a victory. In every family, every family has its own hero. Certainly you cannot compare nazism and stalinism. Because nazis openly and publicly said that they are going to destroy jews, gypsies and slavs. Of course stalin was not an angel. Whole nations were exiled. There were purges. But stalin never wanted to destroy whole ethnicities. It does not make sense to compare these two figures. Secondly, maybe not that pleasant for us, there were still some grounds for these allegations. After world war ii, we tried to make many Easte

This morning the speaker when asked about the plans asked about the details and i believe he said blah blah blah. [laughter] do you feel like you are begin their cut before you unveil your plan and giving the remarks where does this stand . I dont think we cannot afford to wait. I cant settle for an economy that grows at 2 , settle for high employmen unemployment andt able to live on their own. A declining wages for the middle class. We need to be the party of growth and opportunity, restoring the American Dream and this is something americans have hunger before. We have an obligation. I put up this draft so that we could engage the American People on this and i think this is some of that as i travel the country and through the hearings ive had this is something that is very much to move forward.
