Despite a raging global pandemic, London city hall workers took fewer sick days last year compared to 2019, with lost hours down across all but one group of employees. City hall’s annual absenteeism report paints a picture of lost time across the workforce:

City hall workers took fewer sick days in 2020, on average, despite the COVID-19 health crisis. The average time lost was 50.4 hours per person, a sharp decline from the average of 70.8 hours in paid sick leave paid out in 2019. Firefighters saw the lowest rate of sick time in more than a decade, down to an average of 74.6 hours (about three 24-hour shifts).
