Santa Barbara County Fire Department helping local vaccination effort
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. The Santa Barbara County Fire Department has teamed up with Santa Barbara County Public Health to help vaccinate the community. The two are part of the mobile vaccination clinic circling Santa Barbara County.
Between public health and fire health workers, they are vaccinating up to 1,200 people a day. Public Health officials said the vaccination capacity is based on how many doses they receive from the federal government.
Fire department nurses and paramedics are helping with the inoculations. While firefighters are helping with traffic control and organizing people through.
A mobile COVID-19 vaccine clinic is moving around the county vaccinating those eligible. The county is still in the 1A to 1B tiers, or healthcare workers, first responders and those 75 years-old and older.
