Santa Barbara County public health officials reported 70 new COVID-19 cases Sunday, bringing the region’s cumulative case count to 32,017.
The county’s coronavirus-related death toll remained at 411, with 17 of those announced in the past seven days.
Santa Barbara County-area hospitals were treating 70 COVID-19 patients Sunday, a decline from 74 the previous day. Of those, 18 people were in intensive-care units as of Sunday, a number that has remained unchanged in the county over the last three days.
The Public Health Department on Sunday reported the lowest daily number of countywide COVID-19 hospitalizations since December. The last day the county’s daily number was that low was Dec. 11, when 64 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized.
