LOLO PASS â The Granite Pass Complex fires have burned 1,532 acres in the Lolo Pass area and remains 0% contained.
An additional wildfire the Boulder Creek Fire has been added to the complex which also consists of the Lolo Cree, BH Hill and Shotguns that are burning in Montana and Idaho.
Firefighters have completed wrapping critical infrastructure and recreation sites/infrastructure and are continuing to work on structure protection and preparation work.

The Lolo Pass Visitor Center remains closed as are several trails and roads in the area. Motorists are asked not to stop along Highway 12 in the area. A previously issued evacuation warning remains in place for residents between the Idaho border and Lolo Hot Springs.
UPDATE: JULY 16 AT 12:30 P.M.
The Boulder Creek Fire is now joined with the Granite Pass Complex located northwest of the Shotgun Fire on the Powell Ranger District of the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests.
U.S. Forest Service said in a release the Boulder Creek Fire has been smoldering for the last week and has created enough smoke and heat to be considered a wildfire.
Thursday, firefighters finished wrapping high-priority infrastructure and recreation sites Thursday.
Wrapping is when a fire-protective shield over valuable infrastructure to defend them against embers, heat and possible flames. Crews will resume structure protection Friday.Â

LOLO PASS â The Granite Pass Complex fires burning along the Montana/Idaho border have grown by nearly 300 acres.
The lightning-sparked fires have burned a combined total of 1,434 acres and remain 0% contained.
A Red Flag Warning is in effect from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. due to hot, dry, and breezy conditions.
A previously issued Evacuation Warning remains in effect from the Idaho border to Lolo Hot Springs.
