The range of equipment with terrorists in the North requires a pragmatic response from the Nigerian state and not this charade from the Buhari government. This has always been my position. Unfortunately, this federal government is deliberately stalling for reasons so difficult to comprehend. The capabilities of the Nigerian military are persistently eroded by the terroristsâ range of equipment. It is dizzying seeing non-state actors with high calibre equipment and downing fighter jets. Why must this persist in a country with a legitimate government? The outlaws are evidently waxing stronger and controlling territories while the Buhari government goes about with chicanery that no Nigerian territory is under the control of the terrorists. The Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Lucky Irabor and other service chiefs, senior military officers, and family members attended the burial ceremony of Major General Husseini Ahmed, who was killed by gunmen along Lokoja-Abuja Road on his way to Abuja.
The burial was conducted in a solemn atmosphere at Lungi Barracks Cemetery in Abuja, amid tears by family members, colleagues, and others, who thronged the cemetery.
Speaking at the burial, Chief of Army Staff, Maj. Gen.Faruk Yahaya lamented and described as very sad, the death of General Ahmed, who was a former Army Provost Marshal and Director, Veteran Affairs of the army.

David Aigbefoh, the Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Gwagwalada branch in Abuja, has called for increased security surveillance in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Aigbefoh spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in reaction to reports that suspected terrorists were planning to attack selected targets in the nation’s capital.
The lawyer said there is an urgent need for security agencies to step up surveillance, especially aerial surveillance with the use of drones.
He referred to intelligence that some of the perpetrators responsible for crimes in Kaduna have extended their operations to Abuja.
