On Day One of V-Day, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) was able to vaccinate fewer than 50 per cent of its chosen ones. While the target was 4,000, BMC officers said only 1,926 people were vaccinated on Saturday.
A top BMC officer told Mumbai Mirror on the condition of anonymity that the State had been asked to go slow on the vaccinations (of the target of 28,000 for all of Maharashtra, authorities managed to vaccinate only 18,425). The Centre is worried about any adverse fallout of the vaccine.

Mahesh Manjrekar has got himself into trouble after a man filed a complaint against him for alleged abusing.
The incident took place on Friday night at
Yavat on Pune-Mumbai Solapur Highway.
While heading towards Solapur, Manjrekar suddenly braked his car. Due to that, his car was hit from behind by another, causing minor damage.
Realising this, Manjerkar got out of the car and allegedly abused the driver.
The BMC on Saturday made the announcement owing to technical issues with the Co-WIN app. Co-WIN app allows registration for the vaccination.
One person tested positive for the novel coronavirus in the slum-clusters of Dharavi on Saturday (January 16), taking the total figure to 3,880. Currently, the region hosts 14 active cases. Considered as the biggest slum settlement in Asia, Dharavi has so far reported 3,554 recoveries.
On Saturday, Mumbai reported eight deaths and 571 new COVID-19 cases. The total number of positive cases in Mumbai now stands at 3,02,223, according to information received by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). At least 11,235 people have succumbed to the virus in Mumbai so far.
