Funeral For Boone County K9 Killed By Drunk Driver To Be Streamed
During a traffic stop on December 26th, K9 Loki was killed, when a drunk driver slammed into the back of his squad car.
K9 Loki s handler, Deputy Robert Rosenkranz, was conducting a traffic stop on I-90 on that night when his squad car was hit with Loki inside. The deputy sustained some minor injuries. Had he been in the vehicle with Loki, judging by this photo of the wreckage, he likely would ve been killed also.
Funerals for law enforcement are as beautiful as they are sad, I m sure this ceremony will be no different. I ve never witnessed a funeral for a K9 officer before. The Boone County Sheriff s Department knows that we re all wanting to pay our respects, which is why the entire funeral will streamed on Facebook Live. The department is strongly encouraging us to not attend this funeral in person, due to current COVID-19 restrictions.
