The Election Commission of India and the Centre have decided not to hold bypolls for the vacant Lok Sabha seats of Ambala, Pune, Chandrapur, and Ghazipur. The decision was made based on the preparations for the 2024 general elections and the short term that the newly-elected MPs would have. Ambala, Pune and Chandrapur are without an MP due to the demise of sitting MPs. The Ghazipur seat is vacant due to the disqualification of Afzal Ansari on May 1 following conviction by court.
Addressing a press conference at the state party headquarters here, Adityanath announced that BJP candidate Ghanshyam Lodhi won from Rampur and Dinesh Lal Yadav Nirhau from Azamgarh.
