After the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) president Sharad Pawar announced his decision to quit as party chief, Maharashtra MLA Rajendra Shingne said that the party workers feel that the NCP veteran should remain in his post as the president and take the party forward.
Days after Sharad Pawar stepped down as Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief, party s Maharashtra president Jayant Patil on Thursday said that the veteran leader still stands by his decision to quit the top post.
The criticism has come as a surprise to many as it is the first time that Sharad Pawar has spoken openly against the MVA's leader and the Shiv Sena party. The revelations could potentially hurt the MVA's stability, which is already facing internal tensions.
Ajit Pawar, the nephew of Sharad Pawar supported the latter's decision to step down as party President. "Pawar Sahab himself had said about the necessity of change in the guard a few days ago. we should see his decision in the light of his age and health also. everyone has to take a decision according to time, Pawar Saheb has taken a decision and he won't take it back," Ajit Pawar said.
