Lois Quilliams weaves quilts and an amazing tapestry of life
And talk about quilting, we did.
But we talked more about the quilt of her own remarkable life and of the squares she has sewn into it.
Squares made of family, of faith, of the many lives she touched as a teacher and of her example of just how productive and fulfilling growing older can be.
Lois is 91 and will be 92 come October. But she walks quickly and confidently to the door to let me in. No cane. No walker. No hesitation.
As we talk, her recall of names and dates and places is remarkable, her mind as sharp as a West Texas Bowie knife.
