Damaging winds, isolated large hail and a few tornadoes could be seen through Tennessee, northeastern Alabama, northwestern Georgia, and southwestern North Carolina.
As the storm pushes northward, it "will produce a swath of heavy snow from the Upper Midwest through New England Friday and Saturday," the National Weather Service said.
