Every year, January brings a host of festivities with it as several communities across India celebrate various festivals. From Makar Sankranti and Pongal to Lohri, there s no dearth of celebrations along with that of the new year. The year has now started with the first festival of the year and that is Lohri. The festival which is widely celebrated across North India marks the end of winter as farmers look forward to a new harvest season.
Kangana Ranaut took to social media to drop throwback photos from her childhood celebrations of Lohri. The actress wished her fans on the festival and shared how she used to celebrate with her family.

Lohri is a popular Punjabi folk festival in which people celebrate the passing of winter solstice. It marks the beginning of the harvest festival. The word Lohri is derived from two words, til (sesame) and rorhi (jaggery), which are traditionally eaten during the festival.
