The beauty queen rode an autorickshaw to her alma mater on Tuesday, her father in the driver’s seat and her mother holding her hand sitting at the back, a family that dared to dream big and gave it their all to make it come true. Miss India 2020 runner-up Manya Singh’s father Omprakash led the 18-vehicle strong autorickshaw rally for the one kilometre-long stretch, from the end of Thakur village area to her college, the Thakur College of Science and Commerce, the humble three-wheeler getting pride of place in the celebration of her win.

GORAKHPUR: As Manya Singh, the daughter of an autorickshaw driver, was adjudged VLCC Femina Miss India 2020 runner-up, her village and school in Kushinagar basked in her glory and lauded her achievement against all odds. Manya s family now lives in Mumbai. Her father Om Prakash Singh is an auto-rickshaw driver and mother a fashion designer. People in her ancestral village, Vikrampur, Kushinagar, distributed sweets after receiving news of Manya’s achievement. Manya described her tough days on social media how she used to work and study. “We are very happy about Manya’s success against all difficulties. She completed class 10 from Lohia Inter College in Vikrampur. She was a diligent girl and very good in studies,” her school manager Anil Singh said on Saturday.
