Two injured in Logan County accidents

Two people were injured in a pair of accidents in Logan County this week. The first happened Monday afternoon on Stuart Smotherman Road, with the Logan County Sheriff’s Office saying 37-year old Cynthia Coleman of Russellville drove off the side of the road while meeting another vehicle. She lost control and attempted to get back on the road, but overturned in a ditch. Coleman was taken by EMS to Logan Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Meanwhile, 33-year old Antonio Boatwright of Dunmor was northbound on Lewisburg Road early Tuesday morning when his car went off the left shoulder of the road, traveled down an embankment and struck a tree.

Hopkinsville, KY, USA / WHOP 1230 AM | News Radio Apr 26, 2021 11:09 AM Six people were injured in three accidents Saturday in Logan County and rain played in a role in all of them. The first happened just before 9:30 a.m. in the 3900 block of Nashville Road when 27-year old Shanice Lester of Russellville was southbound when her vehicle hydroplaned. It went off the left side of the road, down an embankment and came to stop in the middle of a field. Lester was taken by EMS to Logan Memorial Hospital for treatment of a back injury. The Logan County Sheriff’s Office also investigated a collision that happened about 12:15 p.m. in the 3000 block of Franklin Road, where Joseph Shaffer of Russellville was headed southeast and hydroplaned, causing him to leave the roadway and crash into an embankment.

Lewisburg teen flown to Vanderbilt hospital after accident

Hopkinsville, KY, USA / WHOP 1230 AM | News Radio Jan 3, 2021 6:32 AM A Lewisburg teenager was flown to a Nashville hospital following a single-vehicle accident Friday afternoon in Logan County. The Logan County Sheriff’s Office investigated and determined 20-year old Bradley Spivey of Lewisburg was westbound on Quality Road when his vehicle dropped off the right shoulder of the roadway. He over-corrected and lost control as he traveled into the eastbound lane, causing his vehicle to overturn multiple times as he exited the right shoulder again. It came to rest after hitting a parked car and his passenger, 17-year old Rachel Miller of Lewisburg, was ejected.
