Not “questionable,” but straight-up “out.”
And yet, we just beat the second place team in the conference and got our second straight shutout. We just played a whole raft of backups and looked good doing it. And I’m not talking about Saturday’s second half, when we were a man up, I’m talking about the first half, when the LA Galaxy had a full 11 players – first-choice players, at that – and we still had the better chances, still looked the better side.

Felipe Mora scored a pair of second-half goals and the Portland Timbers defeated the LA Galaxy 3-0 on Saturday. It was the second loss of the season for the Galaxy, who were off to a hot start in the league with four wins in their first five games. “We stuck with the plan and we were very mature in every moment during the game to be able to get a very important result at home that we needed,” Timbers coach Giovanni Savarese said.
