UPDATE 1:40PM: The Nevada Department of Transportation has removed the large boulder that fell this morning, blocking one eastbound lane of U.S. 50 in Lake Tahoe. No vehicles were involved in the slide, and no injuries were reported.
UPDATE 12:40AM: Road crews from California and Nevada announced late Tuesday that both sections of Highway 50 are open after rock and mud slides closed parts of the highway down last week. The latest is Highway 50 west of South Lake Tahoe which is now open, according to CalTrans. The road reopened at 10:32 p.m.

Several different agencies have roadwork projects around the Lake Tahoe Basin from spring to fall. Each week we publish projects planned by the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT), the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), the County of El Dorado, and the City of South Lake Tahoe. Until May, road work in the Lake Tahoe area will be limited.
NDOT - Lake Tahoe and Douglas County
Utility Work (Minor Delays) - on US-50 in both directions between Elks Point Road and Stateline in Douglas County Nevada. Sunday through Thursday from 7 PM to 6 AM roadwork with intermittent delays. Consider an alternate route. The estimated End Time is 6:00 AM on 05/06/21

Film crews will be in the area of Cave Rock on Thursday and drivers can expect intermittent road closures. The Nevada Highway Patrol will close US50 in both directions at times during the day from Logan Creek Drive to Cave Rock Drive until 2:00 p.m. The crews will be filming a car commercial. All delays should be minor.
