A PENSIONER has been charged with attacking his cancer-stricken elderly wife. Kilmacolm man Melvyn Saxton, 76, has had to vacate his villa home and register as homeless at the Inverclyde Centre in order to get bail. He is accused of repeatedly striking his spouse whom a sheriff was told is about to undergo chemotherapy at their home in the village s Lodge Crescent. Saxton had no alternative other than to use the Inverclyde Centre as his address after Sheriff Michael Higgins made it clear he wouldn t contemplate allowing him anywhere near the alleged victim. Prosecutors say that Saxton assaulted his wife on April 5 by hitting her on the head a number of times.

Police are looking to solve what led to a twenty-two (
22) year-old female and a twenty-three (
23) year-old male apparently attacked and injured by two unknown males in the area of Lodge Crescent, Lodge Hill, St Michael.
Circumstances
On Tuesday, 2nd February 2021, about 7:24 pm, Police at District ‘A’ Police Station received a report of a disturbance in the area of Lodge Crescent, Lodge Road, St Michael. On responding police discovered the above mentioned victims lying on the ground behind a residence, both with injuries to their heads.
Investigations reveal that the victims were sitting under a tree in the area when they were approached by two unknown males. The men accosted the victims during which one of the men struck the female in her head with a metal object causing her injuries.

Police launched an investigation into an attack on two young people at Lodge Crescent, Lodge Road, St Michael, last night that left both nursing head injuries.
Around 7:24 p.m., police responded to the scene of the attack where they found a 22-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man lying on the ground behind a residence.
Investigations reveal that the victims were sitting under a tree in the area when they were approached by two unknown males. One of the men struck the woman in her head with a metal object, causing her injuries. The man continued to scuffle with the men who threw stones at him hitting him about the body.
