KITTERY, Maine Town Council Vice Chair Kenneth Lemont submitted a letter of resignation Tuesday, one day after Charles Denault Jr. s resignation from the council was approved.
Citing health-related reasons, Lemont’s departure comes after his reelection in November 2020 for a third three-year term. The Town Council will meet in a special session Wednesday at 6 p.m. to vote on whether to accept Lemont s resignation.
Reached Tuesday evening, Lemont, who didn t specify his health issue, said his resignation doesn’t preclude him from running again in the future. “My anticipation and hope is that I will feel better and work through this.”
Loco Coco s Tacos temporarily closes due to COVID case
KITTERY, Maine Following a positive test for COVID-19 amongst its staff, Loco Coco’s Tacos in Kittery will be closed “for a few days.”
The 36 Walker St. establishment announced on its website that, beginning Sunday, Jan. 24, the restaurant would be closed until further notice in order for restaurant employees to get tested for the virus.
A dishwasher on the Mexican bar and cantina joint’s staff tested positive for the coronavirus following exposure to a family member who had also received a positive COVID-19 diagnosis, the website says.
“We will take a few days to test all of our employees. This is our first Covid closure and we are taking all steps to ensure it is the last,” a notice on the restaurant’s website states. “We will keep you posted!
