Welcome to bbc news. Aid workers and syrian volunteers have begun to evacuate dozens of critically ill patients from a rebel held suburb near damascus. The first of the critically ill patients were taken out of the Eastern Ghouta overnight by the International Committee of the red cross and syrian arab red crescent. But hundreds more are in need of treatment. Lina sinjab reports. A moment of relief for imji. The seven year old is suffering from haemophilia. She is amongst the first four patients to be evacuated from the besieged Eastern Ghouta region. But many are still waiting. Three month old karim was hit in a mortar strike during shelling by Government Forces in october. He was only one month old when he lost his left eye. His skull was broken and his mother is gone forever. A Worldwide Campaign started in his support. Civilians and World Leaders joined the call for his evacuation.
