State Attorney Melissa Nelson and the 4th Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office were recognized with the “Outstanding Local Prosecutor’s Office Award” by the U.S. Department of Justice. U.S. Attorney Maria Chapa Lopez presented the award to Nelson, whose office handles prosecution in Duval, Nassau and Clay counties, in recognition for their ongoing efforts with Project Safe Neighborhoods. “This is an incredible honor for this office and a testament to the hard work of everyone who has dedicated their career to making our community a safer place,” Nelson said.
