California regulators have agreed to penalties against pg e to a record 2. 1 billion for violations tied to the wildfires ignited by the companys power lines in 2017 and 2018. The penalty is about 462 million higher than in earlier fine and would be the biggest ever against the california utility. Pg e would also be required to pass along any tax savings associated with the payments to customers. The price point is too high for consumers going after its goods. That tells you a lot about where the consumer is right now.
